Google launched a feature that allows users
Android
send files to
iPhones
without the help of other applications.The Pixel 10 Series is the first to enjoy this feature.
“We’ve heard from many people that they want a simpler way to share files between devices. Today, we’re introducing a way to make Quick Share work with AirDrop,” wrote Google on its blog page, Thursday (20/11).

“This makes file transfers easier between iPhone and Android devices, and is starting to roll out today to the Pixel 10 family,” he added.
Google says it built this with security at its core to protect user data with strong protections tested by independent security experts.
This feature is said to be Google’s way of providing better compatibility between operating systems that many users have requested. This presence follows similar work such as RCS and unknown tracker alerts.
Here’s how to send files with Quick Share to iPhone users:
Sender
1. Ask iPhone, iPad, or macOS users to open their AirDrop settings and select “Everyone” for 10 minutes.
2. On your Pixel, open the content you want to share and tap Share > Quick Share.
3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or macOS device from the list of nearby devices.
4. Wait until the recipient taps or clicks “Accept” on the AirDrop notification on their iPhone, iPad, or macOS device.
Recipient
1. On your iPhone, iPad, or macOS device, change AirDrop visibility to Everyone for 10 Minutes.
2. Tap or click Accept on the AirDrop notification.
