reportedly starting to prepare for the launch of its newest product,
iPhone 18 series
, for next year.Apple is rumored to be bringing various updates to this cellphone, starting from the camera, design and color.
All models of the iPhone 18 range will reportedly be equipped with a 24 megapixel resolution front camera, up from 18 megapixels in the previous series.

, the full iPhone 18 lineup is expected to include the iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, iPhone 18 Air, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the all-new iPhone Fold.
This significant change is something worth paying attention to, meaning the iPhone 18 series will have sharper and more detailed selfie capabilities, with better portrait accuracy.
Previously, Apple said the selfie camera on the iPhone 17 device was ‘Center Stage’, the first front camera to use a square sensor.
This sensor provides a wider viewing angle, so it can capture more details, whether taking selfies, portraits or landscapes when holding the phone vertically.
Apple will not focus on more affordable iPhone models in the fall of 2026. The devices are still in the development stage and are not expected to launch until spring 2027.
This shows that Apple is still placing its main focus on the high-end iPhone series before presenting more economical variants.
In the iPhone 18 series, it is rumored that Apple will also introduce a redesigned Camera Control button without a capacitive sensor to reduce production costs.However, the pressure sensor feature will still be maintained so that the button continues to support all functions optimally, so that the user experience in taking photos remains as responsive and comfortable as before.
Improvements will also be seen on the performance side, with the iPhone 18 expected to come with 12GB RAM starting in 2026. In addition, all models in this series will be equipped with a 24 megapixel front camera, up from 18 megapixels in the previous generation, which allows selfies and video calls to appear sharper and of higher quality.
iPhone 18 Pro Rumors
The iPhone 18 Pro model is expected to have the same design as the iPhone 17 pro model, with a triple-lens rear camera system and a camera plateau.Then, the Ceramic Shield area for MagSafe charging may be slightly transparent.
Rumors say that Apple is considering three special color options for the iPhone 18 Pro, including coffee brown, purple and burgundy.Apple will not change the size of the iPhone 18 Pro models with screen sizes of 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches.
The iPhone 18 Pro will be equipped with under-display Face ID, with TrueDepth camera hardware placed under the display, but opinion is divided over whether this under-display technology will actually arrive in 2026.
The main camera on the iPhone 18 Pro is likely to be equipped with a variable aperture lens, which will give users more control over the appearance of their photos.
iPhone users can manually adjust the amount of light entering the sensor, reducing overexposure, and providing new adjustment options for lighting and depth of field.
Apple’s next-generation C2 modem chip is expected to launch in 2026, and is expected to be more advanced than the current C1 and C1X chips.The C2 will likely be equipped with 5G mmWave connectivity, and its performance will be closer to the Qualcomm modem chip it will replace.
The iPhone 18 Pro and foldable iPhone models will use Apple’s A20 chip.The A20 chip will use TSMC’s 2nm process for increased power and efficiency.
A possible simpler Camera Settings button on iPhone 18 models could reduce production costs.Currently, the Camera Settings button has a capacitive sensor and a pressure sensor to detect touch movements and pressure levels.
However, in the next version, it is likely that all camera settings functions will use pressure sensors rather than capacitive sensors.
Apple will reportedly divide its product line into two waves, namely in the fall and spring starting in 2026. With the iPhone 18 series, Apple will change the launch schedule for new iPhones.
The more expensive iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will launch in fall 2026 as usual, along with the new foldable iPhone and iPhone 18 Air, but the more affordable iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e models won’t launch until spring 2027.
