Elevate is an AI training initiative that has equipped more than 1.2 million participants with AI skills since its launch in December 2024.
Entering its second year, Microsoft says this program focuses on empowering “today’s heroes” who drive human-based AI innovation, with a target of training 500 thousand AI-certified talents by 2026.
Some of the main targets of this program are teachers, leaders of non-profit organizations, and community leaders who support local communities through technology.
In the second year of this program, previously known as elevAIte, Microsoft is committed to providing a deeper learning experience through cross-sector collaboration to equip the Indonesian people with the skills, tools and knowledge needed to thrive in the AI era and contribute to the realization of the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045.
Based on an IDC report released in September 2025, by September 2030, every US$1 invested in improving AI skills is projected to drive the adoption of AI solutions and have the potential to create US$75 of new economic value for the Indonesian economy.
The Ministry of Communications and Digital (Komdigi) welcomes Microsoft’s commitment to continue developing digital talent in the country.
“We are very enthusiastic about supporting collaboration with Microsoft Elevate, so that the nation’s best talents can continue to develop and have a positive impact on wider society,” said Boni Pudjianto, Head of Komdigi’s Human Resources Development Agency.
To achieve this target, the implementation of Microsoft Elevate will be divided into three main pillars. Each pillar will collaborate with various institutions, organizations and communities to connect communities across Indonesia with AI opportunities in an inclusive manner.
The three pillars are:
1. Present innovative solutions for education
2. Empowering people with AI skills to thrive in the era of the AI economy
3. Support data-based decision making in the government sector through training and advocacy
