Starlink said that it is also working with the Indonesian government to quickly distribute terminals and restore connectivity in the worst affected areas in Sumatra.
For active customers, free internet service can be obtained without any action.Starlink proactively applies free service credits to the account.

New customers in disaster-affected areas can also provide free services.
After purchasing and activating the service, users need to create a support ticket from the Starlink application or website by mentioning “Indonesia Flood Support.”
Here are the steps to send a support ticket to Starlink:
1. Open the Starlink application
2. Select the Support menu > Account > Indonesia and Sri Lanka Flood Response
3. Click Contact Support
4. Enter Indonesia Flood Support as the subject, and then provide a description.
5. Click Submit
Later, you can view existing credits via the billing tab in your account.
As a note, this step needs to be done if the Starlink device is your personal property.
This is because the Starlink device is also one of the assistance from the government to restore connectivity in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra.
To connect to these devices, you only need to connect to the Wi-Fi network provided.
Previously, free Starlink service for disaster-affected areas was also announced by Elon Musk.
“SpaceX’s standard policy is to make Starlink free whenever a natural disaster occurs somewhere in the world,” said Elon Musk at X, Saturday (29/11).
