Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (
BMKG
) appealed to a number of regions to
alert
against the potential for maximum hot weather, thunderstorms, up to
tidal flood
today, Sunday (2/11).
This alert warning was conveyed by BMKG weather forecaster Annisa Lestari in an online broadcast on Sunday (2/11).Rain with light intensity is expected to fall on the cities of Tanjung Pinang, Padang, Jambi, Bengkulu, Jakarta, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar, Palangkaraya, Palu, Sorong and Manokwari.
Meanwhile, moderate intensity rain has the potential to occur in Medan, Serang, Mataram, Tanjung Selor, Mamuju, Makassar, Nabire, Jayapura, Jayawijaya.

Meanwhile, rain accompanied by lightning is predicted to occur in Pekanbaru City, Pangkal Pinang, Bandung, Samarinda, Banjarmasin, Merauke.
Several areas such as Banda Aceh, Palembang, Bandar Lampung, Kupang, Pontianak, Gorontalo, Manado, Kendari, Ternate, Ambon, are predicted to have thick clouds to fog with temperatures ranging from 29-33 degrees Celsius.

At sea, ship operators or sea transportation users are advised to be aware of the potential for high waves of 2.5-4 meters in the Indian Ocean west of Lampung, south of Java, Bali and West Nusa Tenggara- Papua.
Meanwhile in coastal areas, BMKG also detected the potential for tidal flooding on the coasts of West Java, Central Java, South Kalimantan, central Maluku.
Furthermore, Annisa explained that today’s weather conditions were influenced by a number of regional and local atmospheric dynamics, one of which was Tropical Cyclone 98W in the Philippine Sea north of Papua with a wind speed of 20 knots.
