1. Open the WhatsApp application
2. Select the 3 dots icon or menu
3. Go to Settings > Chat

If you turn off Media visibility, you can turn it back on at any time if you want WhatsApp to automatically download audio, videos and photos again.
iOS
1. Open the WhatsApp application
2. Tap Settings > Chat
3. Turn off Save to photos
If you turn off Save to photos, you can turn it back on at any time if you want WhatsApp to automatically download audio, images and videos again.
Furthermore, users can also adjust settings to save incoming media from certain individual or group chats.Here’s how:

1. From the Chat tab, tap an individual or group chat.
2. Tap a contact or group name to view Contact info or Group info.
3. Tap Media visibility > No > OK.
On Android, media files are automatically saved in your WhatsApp media folder.If you have internal storage, the WhatsApp folder will be in internal storage.
If you don’t have internal storage, the folder will be on your SD card or external SD card.
iOS
1. From the Chat tab, tap an individual or group chat.
2. Tap a contact or group name to view Contact info or Group info.
3. Tap Save to photos, then choose:
Default (on): Incoming media will be saved in Photos.
Always: All incoming media is saved in Photos.
Never: Incoming media will not be saved in Photos.
