) reported communication access in areas affected by the Sumatran floods in North Sumatra (North Sumatra) has almost completely recovered.
Komdigi said that 4,273 of the 4,368 or 97.8 percent of BTS towers in the affected areas had returned to operation as of Saturday (13/12), so that local people could communicate with their families again.

“With recovery reaching 97.8 percent, the people of North Sumatra can again obtain important information and contact their families,” said the Minister of Communication and Technology,
Meutya Hafid
, on Saturday (13/12).
He also ensured that monitoring of communication services in flood-affected areas would continue until conditions were completely stable.
While attending a grand remembrance and prayer with flood-affected residents in Sunggal District, Deli Serdang, Saturday (13/12), Meutya also invited the community to continue to care for and strengthen each other.
“Every time there is an exam, there must be convenience. That’s why we all have to help each other and pray for each other,” said Meutya.
In the activity led by Ustaz Maulana and attended by the community, religious leaders and regional government representatives, Kemkomdigi also distributed aid in the form of rice, cooking oil and biscuits to 1,500 residents of Sunggal District who were affected by the flood disaster.
Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that the death toll from flash floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra reached 1,006 as of Saturday (13/12).
Aceh experienced the most deaths, with a total of 415 people.Meanwhile, in North Sumatra, the death toll reached 349 people and in West Sumatra it reached 242 people.
Meanwhile, the number of missing victims was recorded at 217 people, a decrease from the previous day which reached 226 people.
