He said that the policy regarding online games is more in the domain of the Director General (Dirjen) of the Digital Ecosystem. However, in principle, every presidential policy will certainly be followed up by each ministry.
“What form (follow-up) will take, the minister will answer it later,” said Wijaya.
Densus 88 Anti-terror Police previously revealed that the alleged perpetrator often visited online communities, especially forums and darknet sites, before carrying out his actions.
Spokesperson for Densus 88 Anti-terror Police, AKBP Mayndra Eka Wardhana, said that the site visited by the alleged perpetrator contained videos or photos related to war, murder and other sadistic acts.
When asked about restrictions, Wijaya emphasized that all social media content circulating is still based on regulations in force in the Republic of Indonesia.
Wijaya emphasized that Government Regulation (PP) Number 17 of 2025 concerning Governance of the Implementation of Electronic Systems for Child Protection (PP Tunas) also exists to limit content related to hoaxes, pornography, online gambling and violence.
“If there was content in the SMA 72 case, I think it would be better for us to wait for the results from law enforcement officials. It’s impossible for us to act alone,” added Wijaya.
On the other hand, continued Wijaya, the Ministry of Education and Culture has also stepped in to launch efforts to create a learning atmosphere without violence in every educational unit.
“From the Komdigi side, we are clear that we will support the policies of the leadership of this country,” he concluded.
Prabowo is said to have opened up the opportunity to limit online games such as PUBG, after the explosion incident at SMAN 72 Jakarta.

According to Pras, in the meeting, Prabowo mentioned restrictions on online games because they could have an adverse effect on the younger generation.
“He said earlier that we still have to think about limiting and trying to find a way out of the effects of online games,” said Pras after the meeting at Prabowo’s residence, Jalan Kertanegara IV, Jakarta, Sunday (9/11).
He gave the example of the PUBG game which is considered to be able to influence acts of violence.According to Pras, it is possible that online games like PUBG are influencing the younger generation.
“For example, PUBG. That’s there, we might think there are restrictions, yes, there are various types of weapons there, it’s also very easy to learn, it’s even more dangerous. This is psychological, those who are used to committing violence are something that might become normal,” he said.
