This makes Aceh the region with the slowest signal recovery, compared to West Sumatra and North Sumatra. He said widespread power outages were the main obstacle to network recovery.
“For Aceh, electricity problems still cause around 60 percent of the towers to not operate,” said Meutya after chairing a coordination meeting in Medan, Monday (1/12), in her official statement.
According to Komdigi data, of the total 2,804 towers affected in three provinces, Aceh contributed the largest number, consisting of 1,969 towers.
The government is targeting signal recovery in Aceh to increase significantly in the next four days, along with the restoration of electricity by PLN.
The TNI was also deployed to speed up the distribution of repair materials to hard-to-reach locations. On the other hand, recovery in West Sumatra and North Sumatra is progressing more quickly, with operation rates of 95 percent and 90 percent respectively.
Meutya emphasized that restoring communication services remains a priority, so that disaster management coordination is not hampered. He also appreciated cellular operators who provided tariff discounts and extended card active periods for affected residents.
