Kaspersky urges the public to be alert when
shop online
on twin dates which are usually sprinkled with discounts, because of the many fake e-commerce platforms that try to cheat.
“Opportunistic fraud increases during major sales events such as 11.11 because the urgency and desire to buy goods at low prices clouds judgment,” said Olga Altukhova, Senior Web Content Analyst at Kaspersky in a statement, Wednesday (12/11).

Kaspersky said the 11.11 sales campaign is taking place worldwide.Behind the tempting offers provided by platforms and sellers, there are the shadows of fraudsters who are taking advantage of this moment.
Kaspersky warns of fraud and phishing targeting online shoppers in 2025.
They say fake websites imitating large e-commerce platforms can steal payment data, confirm orders that never arrive and drain victims’ accounts.
Users usually get links to fake websites through emails or advertisements on various platforms.
When on fake websites imitating Amazon, Lazada and other often fake e-commerce brands, users are asked to enter complete payment details at checkout.
However, the ordered goods were never delivered and the victim’s funds were lost.
“Make sure you are on a legitimate e-commerce website before entering payment information. Avoid links from unsolicited emails or advertisements, and use a separate bank card for online purchases,” says Altukhova.
“Consumers who have entered data on suspicious sites should immediately contact their bank,” he added.
Safe tips
Kaspersky urges users to always verify the authenticity of the sender before accessing any content when receiving a shopping offer email and not to click on links or open attachments from unknown senders.
Then, make sure the web address is accurate and free of typos, and the page design is not suspicious before entering personal data on any website.
Additionally, you are advised to review your online banking periodically to check for suspicious transactions.If you find an unauthorized transaction, immediately report it to the bank you use.
