“From this meeting and tomorrow, hopefully future directions and strategies will be produced for, firstly, how we protect vulnerable groups of people. This is our main priority,” said Head of the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) Komdigi Bonifasius Wahyu Pudjianto at the event, Jakarta, Tuesday (16/12).
“So who are they? There are children, teenagers, even the elderly, or our relatives with disabilities, or even those with low literacy levels. So that they are not exposed to various negative impacts, such as scams, which might affect their lives,” he added.
Apart from protecting vulnerable groups, this event is also hoped to help reduce the negative impacts of technological advances, one of which is AI.
Boni said that AI advances are one of the benefits for creating content. However, not only positive content is created, but also negative content, many of which even contain misinformation.
Then, it is hoped that this meeting will have a positive impact on the economy, especially MSMEs, corporations, or those who are creating startups.
According to Boni, this event can be a space to share experiences which can then be applied on their respective platforms.
“We gathered together to redefine what and where the digital literacy strategy will go in the future,” he said.
Furthermore, Boni said that digital technology is present as a solution in various sectors, from education, public services, to driving the community’s economy.
However, technology adoption also carries the shadow of misuse, such as the circulation of incorrect information or hoaxes and even cyber crimes.
In this case, digital literacy is considered very important so that people do not become victims of such practices.
According to Boni, digital literacy is not just a matter of technical ability, but an understanding of ethics, psychosocial resilience, and the ability to adapt to very rapid technological changes.
