“In North Sumatra and also in West Sumatra, it is already above 90-95 percent. So the focus for us and our Osel friends right now is on Aceh,” said Meutya after the launch of the 2025 National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas) in Jakarta, Thursday (4/12).

Meutya said the peak of damage or non-functioning of BTS-based telecommunications infrastructure occurred on Tuesday (2/12).Since then, recovery has continued and conditions have gradually improved.
According to him, the recovery is progressing positively with electricity supplies finally starting to be available, and then data services can also be accessed by the public.
“God willing, this will continue to improve. We will continue to monitor it, hopefully it will improve in 1-2 days,” he said.
While waiting for the Osel network to improve, he said, people can take advantage of the SATRIA-1 or Starlink satellite internet service provided by the government.This satellite internet network has been installed in a number of affected areas, including Aceh Tamiang, whose condition has recently been in the spotlight.
Furthermore, Meutya said the government sent 149 units of Starlink devices which were distributed from various agencies.
“Yesterday it came in through several doors in the government, now we are streamlining, as of December 1 there were 149,” he explained.

As of Wednesday (3/12), Indosat services in most areas affected by floods and landslides had gradually returned to function.Services in the North Sumatra region have recovered 92 percent, West Sumatra has recovered more than 97 percent, while the Aceh region has only recovered 50 percent.
Meanwhile, as of Monday (1/12), Telkomsel and IndiHome services had also recovered 90 percent in North Sumatra and West Sumatra.
In North Sumatra, service recovery reached 90 percent for Telkomsel sites and 93.3 percent for IndiHome lines.Meanwhile, the West Sumatra region has recovered 94 percent for Telkomsel sites and 93.3 percent for IndiHome services.As for Aceh, the recovery process is still ongoing with coverage of 36 percent of Telkomsel sites and 41.2 percent of IndiHome lines.
XLSmart did not explain what percentage of site recovery had been carried out.However, as of Wednesday (3/12), in Aceh, 489 BTS were still affected, especially in Pidie Jaya, North Aceh, East Aceh and Aceh Tamiang Regencies.
Meanwhile, in North Sumatra as many as 117 BTS have not yet returned to normal operation in the Central Tapanuli, South Tapanuli and Sibolga City areas.As for West Sumatra, 12 BTS are still affected in Padang Pariaman, Tanah Datar and Solok Regencies.
