officially launched the latest version
ChatGPT Images
, which is powered by the latest generation learning model.This model allows users to create images four times faster.
The latest version of ChatGPT Images was released on Tuesday (16/12), and is available globally, including Indonesia.This model can also be accessed by all users, from free users, ChatGPT Go customers, ChatGPT Plus, to ChatGPT Pro.

“This model performs precise editing while maintaining detail, and produces images up to 4 times faster,” said OpenAI in a statement on its official website, quoted Wednesday (17/12).
This update is supported by OpenAI’s latest image generation model, gpt-image-1.5.The main improvements of this model include the ability to follow instructions that are much smarter, the image editing process is very precise, and the speed of creating images is up to four times faster than the previous version.
OpenAI says the update also offers better text rendering.This is a challenge often faced by traditional image models, but according to the company, the new ChatGPT Images is able to handle denser and smaller text.
As part of this model update, OpenAI also added a dedicated Images section to the ChatGPT sidebar.Here users will find built-in filters and prompts that can be used for inspiration.

, ChatGPT Images launched alongside a surge in Gemini usage fueled by Nano Banana Pro.In October, Google announced that its chatbot had 650 million users, up from 450 million just a few months earlier in July.
Nano Banana Pro is so popular that the company recently limited free users to two image generation times per day.
For OpenAI, a strong response to Nano Banana Pro may not be as important as ensuring they compete aggressively against Gemini 3 Pro, but ChatGPT Images is a major factor in why there are 800 million ChatGPT users.
“We believe we are still at the beginning of what image generation technology can enable,” said OpenAI.
“Today’s update is a significant step forward, with more to come, from more detailed editing to richer and more detailed output across multiple languages,” the company continued.
