transactions are becoming increasingly massive, even in rural areas.
“With the ratio of active users, it is estimated that more than 250 thousand Sragen residents have now used QRIS in their daily economic activities. From our estimates, around 35 percent of residents in Sribit Village have actively used QRIS,” said Meutya when inaugurating the Internet Village in Sribit Village, Sragen, Central Java, Wednesday (5/11).
“They are traders at Tambak Market, sellers of agricultural products, bamboo craftsmen, and home business people who now not only sell around here, but also outside the area,” he added.

QRIS is a domestic technology that is growing very rapidly, not only domestically but also abroad.
Separately, the Indonesian Payment Systems Association (ASPI) noted that the volume of QRIS transactions continues to increase.
Head of IT for the Indonesian Payment System Association (ASPI) Dodi Soewandi said the volume of QRIS transactions reached IDR 130 trillion from the beginning of October until now (month to date/MTD).
“So it was surprising that four years ago when we introduced QRIS to the market, we were a little worried because the infrastructure was still low, but I think because of the pandemic, infrastructure penetration was very fast and everyone could have a smartphone. So, in the last four years, the development of QRIS transaction volume has been very fast,” he said at the 2025 Indonesia Treasury Leadership Forum at Hotel Mulia Jakarta, Tuesday (22/10).
He said QRIS would continue to be developed for use abroad.So far, he said, QRIS can be used by countries that have collaborated with Indonesia, such as Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Japan.
He said QRIS is also targeted to be used in India.
“So QRIS will become a well-known legal standard for payment systems,” he said.
