Samsung
launched the beta program for One UI 8.5, providing updates to the Photo Assist feature to the new Audio Broadcast feature for broadcasting audio to nearby devices.
One UI 8.5 allows users to do more with less effort, offering improvements that enable smoother actions, better device management, and enhanced security.

Through this latest operating system, users can continue to produce new images without stopping with the updated Photo Assist feature.
Users can edit photos using the Photo Assist feature continuously without needing to save each change.After the editing process is complete, users can easily view all creations in the edit history and choose the best ones to save.
Then, One UI 8.5 also provides improvements to the Quick Share feature for sharing files.The feature can now recognize people’s faces in photos and proactively suggest users to send them directly to their contacts.
In addition, there is also a new Audio Broadcast feature that allows users to broadcast audio to nearby devices that support LE Audio using Auracast.
In addition to audio from media, users can also broadcast their voices using the Galaxy’s built-in microphone.This feature is said to be ideal for use during group tours or various events.This latest feature is only available for the Galaxy S25 series.
One UI 8.5 also brings Storage Share which displays documents from other Galaxy devices, including tablets and PCs, directly in the My Files app.
Users can also access documents from their phones via other Samsung devices, including TVs.
On the security side, One UI 8.5 also increases device protection with Theft Protection.This feature keeps the smartphone and the data on it safe if the device is lost or stolen.
For additional protection, Failed Authentication Lock will automatically lock the screen if too many verifications fail, whether via fingerprint, PIN or password.
Identity checks also safeguard more settings than before, adding an extra layer of security.
The One UI 8.5 beta program will first be available to Galaxy S25 users in several countries such as Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK and the United States on December 8.
Galaxy users can register to join the beta program via the Samsung Members app.
