The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts
Tropical Cyclone Seed 93S
develops into a tropical cyclone.This has the potential to have indirect impacts in the form of:
extreme weather
to a number of regions in Indonesia.
According to BMKG as of Sunday (21/12) at 19.00 WIB, Tropical Cyclone Seed 93S was observed to be active in the Indian Ocean region south of West Java.

“The 93S Tropical Cyclone Seed System has a high chance of becoming a Tropical Cyclone in the next 24 hours,” said BMKG in an upload on Instagram, Sunday (21/12).
This cyclone spawn has a maximum wind speed of 30 knots or 56 km/hour and a minimum air pressure of 1000 hPa, with a movement direction to the Southwest.
According to BMKG, this tropical cyclone seed can increase wind speed around the system (low level jet) to reach >25 knots in waters south of Java.
Tropical Cyclone Seed 93S had an indirect impact on the weather in a number of regions in Indonesia, at least until Monday (22/12) at 19.00 WIB.
Apart from that, these seeds also form areas of slowing wind speed (convergence) and wind meeting (confluence) in coastal areas from the south coast of Banten to West Java.
BMKG revealed that these indirect impacts include high intensity rain and high waves in a number of Indonesian waters.Here are the details:
Strong winds have the potential to occur in the following areas:
– Lampung
– Banten
Medium high waves (1.25-2.5 meters) have the potential to occur in areas:
– West waters of Bengkulu to Lampung
– Southern part of the Sunda Strait
– Waters south of Banten to NTB
– Southern Bali Strait
– Indian Ocean west of Mentawai to Lampung
– Indian Ocean south of Banten to NTB
