The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said that Tropical Cyclone Seed 95B had transformed into
Senyar Tropical Cyclone
on Wednesday (26/11).This tropical cyclone has the potential to land in Aceh in the next 24 hours.
“Based on atmospheric analysis as of today, Wednesday 26 November 2025, at 07.00 WIB, the system (Tropical Cyclone Seed 95B) has experienced intensification and officially has the status of Tropical Cyclone Senyar which is currently being observed in the waters of the Malacca Strait, eastern part of Aceh,” said Head of BMKG Teuku Faisal Fathani in an online press conference, Wednesday (26/11).

Cyclone Senyar currently has a center at 5 degrees N and 98 degrees E with a minimum air pressure at the center reaching 998 hPa.This tropical cyclone has a maximum wind speed of 43 knots or around 80 km/hour.
Since the last 6 hours, said Faisal, this tropical cyclone has been moving west towards the Aceh mainland at a speed of around 10 km/hour and triggering the growth of convective clouds in the surrounding area.
As a result, the weather in the areas through which this tropical cyclone passes will be significantly affected.Faisal said that the Aceh and North Sumatra regions had the potential to receive very heavy to extreme rain which could be accompanied by strong winds.
Rain clouds that form in these areas are influenced by the supply of water vapor in the warm waters of the Malacca Strait as well as increased wind convergence in northern Sumatra.
“In the next 6 hours, Tropical Cyclone Senyar is predicted to continue moving closer to the coast of Aceh and has the possibility of making landfall or
landfall
,” said Faisal.
Then, in the next 6-24 hours this tropical cyclone is expected to continue moving west and southwest and interacting with land, the system is expected to gradually weaken.
However, extreme weather still has the potential to occur as a further impact, so the potential impact of hydrometeorological disasters such as floods, flash floods, landslides must still be watched out for in the areas of Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau Islands, West Sumatra and surrounding areas in the next 2 to 3 days.
In the next 24 hours, Tropical Cyclone Senyar is said to be moving west and southwest and will still be on mainland Aceh at a speed of 4 knots or 7 km/hour.Meanwhile, in the next 48 hours, Tropical Cyclone Senyar is expected to decrease in intensity to become a tropical depression.
Apart from increasing the intensity of rain, Tropical Cyclone Senyar also has the potential to cause high sea waves of 2.5-4 meters in the northern Malacca Strait, Aceh waters and the West Indian Ocean from Aceh to Nias;and medium category waves of 1.25 to 2.5 meters in the central part of the Malacca Strait, North Sumatra waters and Rokan Hilir waters.
“In connection with the potential for extreme weather, BMKG urges local governments in affected areas to increase their preparedness for potential floods, coastal floods or tidal floods, landslides and fallen trees due to strong winds,” said Faisal.
“Fishermen and sea transport operators are asked to pay attention to high wave conditions which have the potential to disrupt shipping safety, especially in the Malacca Strait and surrounding areas,” he concluded.
