In the latest update, when a member leaves a group, only the admin will receive a notification, while other members will not get any notification.

However, the name and number of the departed user will still appear in the “Previous members” section of the group info for up to 60 days.Profile photos may also appear, depending on privacy settings
After leaving a group, users can choose two options, keep chat history or delete the group from the conversation tab.If you select delete, all history and media received in the group will be lost from the device, and cannot be recovered.
The silent group exit feature is part of WhatsApp’s efforts to increase user privacy control, especially for those who want to manage their conversation space more quietly and without leaving visible traces.
Here’s how to leave a group secretly:
1. Open a group chat, then tap the group name.
2. Tap Leave group.
3. You may see an option to report the group.If you select Report group, the last five messages in the chat will be sent to WhatsApp.
4. Select one of the following options:
– Leave group: Leave the group while still saving chat history.
– Exit and delete for me: Exit and delete the group from the Chat tab.
