The helicopter performed a series of maneuvers during its maiden test flight in Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang Province in northeastern China. These maneuvers include stationary flying, route flying, and precision landing.
The T1400’s maximum takeoff weight of 1,400 kilograms represents a breakthrough in payload capacity and endurance.Tian Gangyin, Head of United Aircraft Group, said the presence of this helicopter overcomes long-standing limitations of industrial drones.
The T1400 unmanned helicopter has a maximum payload of 650 kilograms, equivalent to the weight of more than 10 adults, and can fly for more than eight hours.
This helicopter is designed for extreme environments with the ability to operate at temperatures between minus 40 degrees Celsius to 55 degrees Celsius, reach a service altitude of 6,500 meters, and withstand strong winds.

, the T1400 was developed and manufactured in Harbin.Tian said some of the helicopter’s main focus is to serve the vast agricultural land, forests, lakes and rivers of Heilongjiang, with potential applications in agriculture, logistics and emergency rescue.
He also said that this aircraft would be operated nationally in the future.
As a major food producing region and forest base in China, Heilongjiang has become a key market for the low-flying economy.
In recent years, the province has introduced a series of measures to accelerate the development of the sector, with the target of achieving a breakthrough in airspace reform and establishing a distinctive regional application by 2027.
China’s low-flight economy has gained significant momentum since its inclusion in the government’s 2024 jobs report, where the sector was identified as a new growth driver.
According to estimates by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the sector will reach a market scale of 1.5 trillion yuan (around US$211.6 billion) by 2025, with a further projected expansion to 3.5 trillion yuan by 2035.
