Thousands of researchers in Indonesia along with several ministers and President Prabowo Subianto, attended the Convention on Science, Technology, Industry (KSTI) in 2025 which was held at the Sabuga Building Bandung, Thursday (7/8).This event lasts for the next three days or until Saturday (9/8).
“Inviting 350 Chancellors from State and Private Universities in Indonesia. We also invite the best thousand researchers in Indonesia,” said Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Brian Yuliarto when giving a speech on Thursday (7/8).
Brian said that with this convention, science and technology in Indonesia are expected to be able to realize economic growth and equity.In addition, he encouraged the extractive economy to be changed by managing downstreaming.
“The key is mastery of science and technology, so at least at least the fathers who are present in this room have moral responsibilities, great responsibilities to ensure that the mastery of science and technology by our nation is truly mastered,” he said.
Meanwhile, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani in his remarks said science and technology are a determining factor for the economic progress of a country.

The current government, continued Sri Mulyani, strongly supports the world of education.This is seen from the role of the state budget, where 20 percent is designed for education.
“For this year Rp750 trillion. This budget allocation is used to strengthen the ecosystem of all education. But Indonesia is a big country, if we talk about education we can talk from madrasas, public school education, private or we talk about the world,” said Sri Mulyani.
“From the honorary teacher to the professor or smart people in a room like this, researchers and universities are also very diversion. I remember a few months ago there was a demonstration the teacher could not tame. Lecturers could not use. But I am sure not the lecturer sitting here,” he continued.
