Announcements regarding the planned departures of the following Apple executives were made just this week. Those who will leave Apple are:
– Lisa Jackson, Apple’s Vice President of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives, will retire next year.
– Kate Adams, Principal Legal Counsel, will also retire next year.
– Alan Dye, Vice President of Human Interface Design, who will join Meta as Head of Design.
– John Giannandrea, Senior Vice President of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Strategy, who will also retire next year.
Previously, at the beginning of this year, Jeff Williams stepped down from his role as Apple’s chief operating officer.
The changes come at a time when critics say that Apple, once a technology leader, is now lagging behind in the big technology wave of artificial intelligence.
For one of the world’s most valuable technology companies, a change in leadership could mean a change in the way its products, which are used around the world every day, are designed, developed and created.
“The only thing we can conclude from this is that we are heading towards more volatile times for Apple,” said Robert Siegel, a venture capitalist, reported

Apple then hired Meta’s Chief Legal Officer, Jennifer Newstead, as its new legal advisor. On the other hand, Amar Subramanya, Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President of AI will be Apple’s new Vice President of AI.
Apple isn’t the only tech giant undertaking a structural overhaul. On Thursday, Meta announced that it is shifting some investment from its virtual reality Metaverse project to AI glasses and wearable devices.
In October, Amazon laid off 14,000 employees as part of an effort to operate more efficiently and move faster in AI development.Last year, Google merged its hardware and software teams to more effectively integrate AI into its products.
However, Apple is known for its tight-knit and closed corporate culture, characterized by secrecy.
“This goes against Apple’s typical culture. But they need to take drastic steps,” said Dan Ives, head of global technology research at Wedbush Securities.
“Because their AI strategy has been invisible, and this will determine Cook’s legacy, how he handles this chapter,” he continued.
