This analysis shows that these tropical cyclone seeds increase in intensity and trigger the potential for extreme weather in the form of heavy to extreme rain and strong winds in the regions of Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau and surrounding areas.
Therefore, Head of BMKG Teuku Faisal Fathani appealed to the public in these areas to increase awareness of the potential for extreme weather due to the impact of Cyclone Seed 95B.
BMKG itself continues to monitor the intensity of 95B and asks relevant stakeholders to ensure mitigation measures to minimize undesirable events.
“Regional governments are alert to the potential impacts of extreme weather, such as potential flooding, coastal flooding and fallen trees due to strong winds. Especially for fishermen and sea transportation operators, they must really pay attention to high wave conditions which risk disrupting shipping safety. Security and safety are our main priorities together,” said Faisal in his statement, Wednesday (26/11).
Meanwhile, BMKG Deputy for Meteorology Guswanto explained data as of November 26 2025 at 01.00 WIB showing that this system is still near the waters east of Aceh and is triggering the growth of widespread rain clouds.
This condition, he said, has the potential to increase heavy to extreme rainfall accompanied by strong winds in the coastal areas of Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra and Riau.
“The chance of this seed developing into a tropical cyclone is quite high in the next 24 hours, considering that there has been an increase in strong winds of more than 35 knots (65 km/hour), so the public is advised to remain alert to the potential for extreme weather in the near future,” said Guswanto.
Likewise, BMKG Director of Meteorology Andri Ramdhani said that Cyclone Seed 95B in the next 24 hours would have a direct impact on weather and sea waves in Indonesia, especially around Aceh and North Sumatra.
Based on the results of BMKG analysis, this system has the potential to cause heavy to extreme rain in Aceh and North Sumatra, as well as parts of West Sumatra and Riau;and strong winds in most parts of North Sumatra.
Cyclone seed 95B also has the potential to cause high waves of 2.5-4.0 m in the central part of the Malacca Strait, the eastern waters of North Sumatra, and the western Indian Ocean from Aceh to Nias.Meanwhile, moderate waves of 1.25-2.5 m have the potential to occur in the northern part of the Malacca Strait, Rokan Hilir Waters, Dumai-Bangkalis.
