Elon Musk has started rolling out a new feature for user profiles that will display information about the account, including location, number of times the username has been changed, original joining date and how the user downloaded the X app.
The new information aims to reduce inauthentic interactions on the platform, where bots often masquerade as humans, an issue that can be increasingly difficult to monitor in the era of artificial intelligence (AI).

The basic idea is that by publishing these details, users can make more informed decisions about whether they are interacting with genuine accounts, bots or irresponsible parties, seeking to cause division or spread false information.
For example, if X’s account bio states that the user is from a US state, but their account information indicates that they are based outside the US, you might suspect that they have another agenda.
Last week Bier responded to a post in which a user asked Elon Musk to require accounts to display their location by telling the user, “Give me 72 hours.”
Since then, more people have seen the “About this account” feature become available on their own profiles.
How to see the “About this account” feature
To view your account information on the web or in the X app, click the “Joined” date on your profile. This will take you to a page showing the date you joined Twitter/X, the location of your account, how many times you have changed your username and when the last change was made, as well as how you connected to X, for example via the US App Store or Google Play.
Although some users have reported that the feature appears on their profiles, others have not been able to access it.
This may be because X wants to give users time to review the accuracy of their information before this feature is expanded.
Specifically, X allows users to customize whether the feature displays their country or just their geographic region.
X is not the first social network to offer this level of transparency to its users. For example, Instagram has long offered a similar feature.
