It is reported that they are preparing a tracking accessory device called Xiaomi Tag which can be used to track the location of important items, from bags to wallets.
This news comes from a leaker on Weibo named Repeater 002. He said Xiaomi is currently finalizing the device.
Xiaomi is said to be planning to launch it soon, possibly along with two other accessories, namely the Xiaomi Watch 5 and Buds 6.

These new products may be introduced during the Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s big launch event in China.Reportedly, the event will be held on December 26 2025.
Not much information is known regarding this news, but the name that will be used is most likely Xiaomi Tag.
Then, the birth of this product is very important, because it is the first sign of support for Ultra-Wideband (UWB) on Xiaomi devices.
Quoted from Gizchina, UWB is a technology that allows location determination with high precision and short range. It is the “Precision Finding” feature that makes Apple AirTag so useful and sets it apart from others.
This Xiaomi tracker is also expected to be compatible with Google’s Find My Device network which has a very extensive network.
Google’s Find My Device utilizes any nearby Android phone to secretly send the tracker’s location back to you, even if the item is far away and not connected to the internet. This makes the tracker truly useful anywhere.
This technological arrangement is actually no longer unique.Companies like Chipolo, Pebblebee, and Motorola’s Moto Tag already offer UWB technology and integration with Google’s network.
However, Xiaomi has always excelled in the price department, and here they could really shake up the market.
Currently, devices like the popular Moto Tag and Pebblebee Clip sell for over US$25 on Amazon. Most of the reliable alternatives are also in the same price range.
If Xiaomi sticks to its usual strategy, they will try to sell the Xiaomi Tag at a lower price than competitors.
If Xiaomi can offer a lower price than these alternatives with similar or slightly better specs, they have a great chance of attracting all the Android users who want the tag of a capable cheap tracker.
